They say sympathetically that cleaning with pets in your house is like brushing your teeth while eating chocolate. You must have already tried all the possible tricks with blankets and covers on beds and sofas, rubber gloves or wet sponges. But everything eventually ends up with choosing a nice and reliable machine for dealing with that pesky fur. Here come our best five vacuum models!
They are designed not only for pet fur and dust but for sucking crumbs, hair, litter and even liquids, all the little items that happen to appear at home!

Do you know what you really want?

Just decide what features are important for you the most. Do you want to change batteries and have your vacuum portable for cleaning in car or terrace or even bring it to your office? Or you are absolutely fine with a corded electric one and enjoy long cleaning sessions instead of running to charge after every 15 minutes of work? How much are you going to spend on your new vacuum? Remember that cheaper models are not necessarily worse, they just may require a bit more cleaning time. Do you care about the brand? Will you pay extra for a recognizable name or trust the unknown which is still often good? Do you want a fancy design to match your interior or anything will do – the vacuum will be stored out of sight anyway? Do you want it to be specific or versatile? Wet or dry cleaning? Let’s not forget service policy and warranty, etc.

Chose a lightweight, easy to handle stick vacuum if you do it every day. But if your cleanings are usually less frequent and more profound, a big powerful model is needed. Not mentioned in our top 5, but still a choice for a definite lifestyle are robotic vacuums.

2) Noise tolerance.

3) Are you allergic?

Dust sensitivity is possible to be managed with models of vacuums that meet HEPA standards (high-efficiency particulate air). It is important to change filters very often, every couple of months so, buy the vacuum with washable ones, it will cost you less.

4) Cleaning pet’s hair needs more power.

Keep in mind that vacuums with power less than 12 amps are not for pet owners. Moreover, to deal with this hairy kind of mess on your floors special accessories like additional brushes, filters, heads or wet mops are a must have.

  1. I have 3 big dogs who are not shy on shedding. I have tried several handheld vacuums for pet hair this year. I finally ended up spending a bit more and going with the Shark handheld. It seems to do the best job consistently. I ended up returning or giving the other ones away. I am thinking about upgrading my full size vacuum to a Shark as well now.
