The carpet comforts, it is pleasant to walk on, and children love to play or just lie on the fluffy carpet. But even if you use a vacuum cleaner, clean the carpet regularly from dust, inevitably there are situations when the carpet can be easily ruined.

For example, you spilled a glass of wine, children ate pasta and sauce accidentally knocked over a plate on the floor, you dropped a cup of coffee, and so on. In an instant, your beautiful carpet will turn into a dirty piece of fabric that will ruin the whole look of your home and scream that its owner is untidy. What is your carpet?

Before you clean, you need to find out what material they make the carpet of. Wool carpets should not be cleaned using corrosive substances.

If they make the carpet of a long pile, do not use a lot of water and wet it too much. Long pile dries for a long time, and after drying, the villi may stick together. The carpet may lose its appearance after cleaning. If you use the more ode method, then you will need to comb the carpet at least five times as the carpet dries.

Be very careful with colored carpets. If you use unsuitable cleaning agents, the carpet may become discolored, faded, or stained.

The carpet can withstand any cleaning method. But here, too, you need to be careful. If you use a lot of water, mold will develop under the carpet. To avoid this, you need to clean the carpet locally and dry each place well with a hairdryer.

Preparing the carpet for cleaning

Don’t think removing stains is easy. We must prepare the carpet for activities such as applying a special solution and removing the stain. All procedures will depend on the type of liquid with which you smeared the carpet, type of pollution, the area of pollution, and other nuances. Therefore, we advise you to follow a few steps to help you prepare your carpet for cleaning.

If you spill liquid on the carpet and it is already dry, we recommend that you take the carpet outside and shake it out. So all dust and large particles of dirt will not interfere with you when cleaning the carpet with a special product.

If you have smeared the carpet with greasy food, you should wait until the food dries a little. After that, you need to take a knife and clean the adhering dirt so as not to damage the weaving of the carpet. After that, shake the carpet in the same way so that the rest of the food falls off.

If you have spilled a fatty sauce, then there is no need to hesitate and wait until it completely absorbs the liquid. Take an absorbent tissue and gently blot out the liquid. Do not rub to avoid increasing the dirt on the carpet.

If you use a special product for removing stains from the mass market and do not prepare it according to our recipe, then check how gently it removes stains and whether it will ruin your carpet. To do this, apply a few drops to the most difficult and invisible area. Wait 5-10 minutes and wipe off the detergent. If the carpet hasn’t deteriorated, the color has not changed, and the threads are still intact and strong, you can use this cleaner to clean the grease stain.

  • greasy stains.

How do you get these stains off your carpet? What to do and what means will help, and on which ones will we just waste money and energy? Briefly about the most common pollution and how to deal with it.

Wine stains

It is very difficult to remove wine and cherry juice stains, especially if the carpet is light. A trace of the stain can remain and spoil the interior of the room. But it’s still possible. The first option to remove this stain is to use white wine. Pour some alcohol on the stain, wait about 10-15 minutes. Dampen a cloth with soapy water and wipe the dirt off. The second method is the use of mineral water. Cover the stain with mineral water, sprinkle with baking soda, and leave for 5-10 minutes. Then clean the stain with any cleaner. And the last way is to use a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.

Stains from markers, pens, and paints

The first method involves the use of alcohol. Blot the stain with alcohol, lubricate with glycerin and wash with soapy water. If the first method does not give results, use the second. Use hairspray. Spray on the marker stain at close range. Blot with a napkin until the varnish is dry. Do this several times and then wash the spot to remove the stain with soapy water.

Bloodstains

It is difficult to deal with such spots. Even if you rinse the carpet quickly in cool water, there is a chance that a pale red or brown mark will remain on the carpet. We advise you to make a special solution. Combine a teaspoon of wine vinegar, a teaspoon of detergent, and a liter of water. Pour the solution over the bloodstain and let sit for a few minutes. Wipe off any remaining liquid and repeat the procedure. Rinse the carpet with clean, cool water and allow it to dry.

Animal urine stains

65% of US residents have pets, dogs, or cats. What if you didn’t have time to let your friend out on the street? The result is obvious. You have a stain on the carpet. Removing such a stain will not be difficult. Prepare a solution of vinegar and water in a 1: 3 ratio. Fill the stain and leave for 2-3 hours. Then remove the liquid and sprinkle baking soda on the stain. Prepare a second solution of 1 teaspoon of detergent and half a glass of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Rub the stain for about 10 minutes, let it dry. Remove the baking soda from the carpet using a vacuum cleaner.

Greasy food and sauces stains

The fat quickly crystallizes and hardens. That is why stains from spaghetti, olive or sunflower oil, fatty sauces, cosmetics, spilled essential oils are the most difficult to remove. If it rubs these stains, it can absorb them even more. It will increase in volume, and then it becomes even more difficult to deal with such pollution.

If you drop food on the carpet or spill oil or something else with a greasy composition, you need to immediately remove the stain. Do not waste a second and leave the cleaning for later. The grease dries quickly, also quickly descends to the base of the floor, and is deeply absorbed into the fibers of the carpet. If you wait a couple of hours, it will be almost impossible to remove such a stain.

The first thing you should do is remove food. Next, take any free-flowing mixture that is in the house. Soda, salt, colorless talc, chalk, flour, semolina will suit you. This will help absorb any remaining fat. The carpet should remain in this state for about 40 minutes. Then just vacuum. If you react quickly, then in half of the cases, these actions are enough to clean the carpet. But it also happens that you need to put in more effort. Then you will need a more thorough cleaning and the following methods are ideal.
